Mozart’s Serenade No. 12
Dance & Music – 7 min

When composing his serenade between 1781 and 1782, Mozart wanted to tackle the genre in his own way. There is no definitive reason why he might have composed this one the way he did, one possibility was to impress Emperor Joseph II. While the evidence is scarce, it is still fascinating to see that Mozart wanted to change the norms.
