CORE Rapid Disaster Relief, Lasting Recovery

Activism – 2 min

After the Eaton Fire tore through Altadena, families lost homes—and hope. CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) moves fast to deliver aid, rebuild infrastructure, and restore dignity in communities often left behind. Born in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, founded by Ann Lee and Sean Penn, CORE shows up—and stays. In Ukraine, they provide medical care amid war. During COVID, they ran mobile testing and vaccination. In Altadena, CORE and Rep. Judy Chu helped repair water systems, distributed supplies, and raised $500,000 to help 15,000 residents stay housed.
