Der Heyser Bulgar with Bard Conservatory Orchestra

Dance & Music – 7 min

“Der Heyser Bulgar” translates to “The Hot Bulgar”, a form of Yiddish music that originated in Bessarabia (present-day Moldova). Popular among Jewish immigrants in the early 1920s, this piece even made its way onto the 1995 album, “In the Fiddler’s House”, which featured famed Israeli-American violinist Itzhak Perlman, and the Klezmer Conservatory Band. Here, David Krakauer brings great energy with his clarinet similar to Perlman’s violin style with the great talents of the Bard Conservatory Orchestra backing him.
