​Refuge is a short film directed by Aubrie Campbell Canfield that follows Lloyd Thorne, a U.S. Army veteran from Vietnam who has dedicated his life to supporting fellow veterans. Lloyd alongside Helen Shaut lead The Veterans Organization of Resource and Recovery for the Homeless (VORRH) which houses and supports homeless and struggling veterans. Having faced his own challenges transitioning back into civilian life, Lloyd now works tirelessly to help others navigate the obstacles they encounter. The film highlights his commitment to providing the assistance and guidance that he once needed, showcasing the profound impact of peer support within the veteran community.​
