This Is My Place is a short film directed by Zach Mather, that follows Armando, a bear research technician with Fundación Cordillera Tropical (FCT) in Cuenca, Ecuador. Having grown up in the forest, Armando now dedicates his life to conserving the Sangay National Park, an area that has faced environmental challenges for centuries. Through his work with FCT, he treks through the forest to set up and monitor cameras, documenting bears and contributing to the preservation of this vital ecosystem. The film captures and allows viewers to understand Armando’s connection to the land and his commitment to conservation. The film does a great job of highlighting the importance of community involvement and protecting the environment.
