People – 7 min

A 13-year-old boy came with his mother to a waterfall deep in the mountains. There, a mysterious Japanese Buddhist ritual takes place. What will happen to the boy and his mother?

In fact, this is an extremely sacred practice in Japanese Buddhism. It is said that by experiencing such extremes, the body and mind are purified.

This has been done for nearly 1,000 years.
